Fun in the Summer

This summer vacation is FLYING by. I have 4 weeks left until I go back to work and it's making me really sad. I've spent a total of 2 weeks so far in Vegas with no visitors or nothing going on. Out of two months that's not very much time. I just got back from another trip to Michigan. It was a long one. I got in on a Wed morn and left Fri morning for my drive to Buffalo, NY for Dana's wedding. Michelle flew to Det and drove with me so that made it better. We made it with 10 minutes to spare before her rehearsal. The wedding was gorgeous and Dana looked just like Barbie. It was so much fun and the limo ride was hilarious. I felt very welcomed by her friends and very comfortable. The day after the wedding, Michelle and I visited Niagara Falls before I took her to the airport. Neither of us had been so it was a fun adventure! It's really cool! When I got back to Michigan I had about 4 more days of relaxation before heading home. We had a birthday dinner one night for my birthday and had Grandma, Grandpa, and Grandma Great over. My mom and I made filets on the grill, loaded baked potatoes, and southern style green beans. Of course my mom also baked me cupcakes for dessert. I think I had a dozen of them before I came home! Yum!

I got back into Vegas late Thurs night and Friday afternoon Pat and I left for our trip to Disneyland. Friday we stayed with some friends of ours (the ones we went to their wedding in Hawaii). Their house is amazing! William Shatner used to own it back in the 70's so we made jokes all night about beaming into other rooms. Sat we woke up early, had a great breakfast and headed to Disney. We spent Sat and Sun there and I swear I have never had more fun in my whole life. We laughed and shopped and ate and rode all the rides. Sun, on my actual birthday, he surprised me with a button pin that said "Happy Birthday" and the lady at the store wrote my name. Then he got one that said "I'm Celebrating" and the lady wrote "Lindsay's birthday." It was totally cute. He totally hooked me up this birthday. I doubt he'll ever be able to top it. He was just very thoughtful and paid attention to detail. He even left his phone in the hotel room both days, which is extremely rare considering he works 24/7. That was a big deal!

This week I have been scrambling to get my Grandpa's scrapbook done for his 80th surprise birthday party next week. It's been a nightmare but the book is amazing if I do say so myself :) Next weekend Pat and I are flying to Michigan for the party. I can't wait to take him to Blocks to pick corn out of the tractor and have fresh tomatoes from Grandma's garden!!!
