Well my boy student I've been working on motivating is successful yet again. He went from C's and D's last trimester to A's and B's now. He has been working really hard on his math this week because it was the only subject he had a C in and today he successfully reached a B. I made the biggest deal out of it too! I printed his progress report and wrote how proud I was and then walked him down to the principal's office so he could show her and she made a big deal out of it too. He was really excited! He also told me that his parents enrolled in back in football and he has to have good grades to play so he's gonna keep doing good. I'm so happy for him. He really is a good kid, just needs an extra push every once in awhile. I was eavesdropping on his conversation with a few other boys today and they were talking about their dads. He said he never sees his dad and that when he was younger he abused him. :( Makes me sad that kids have experiences like that! His step dad, who adopted him legally, is awesome so I'm glad that he has a positive role model now!
I'm already starting to get excited about next year. From what I'm told, I have a really good class. Thank goodness!!!! I have to pack up my classroom again and move to another pod, which is bittersweet. I love my pod because it's quiet and everyone in it are my friends. But now I'm moving into another pod with different friends and more social people. That can be good and bad haha. Plus it will be a battle to use the open area and the computers because we will all want to be out there. I hate moving too. Ugh. But my admin is allowing me to have the kids help and I'm moving probably next week. So at least I don't have to pack it all up and unpack it. I can just have the kids transfer stuff over. Piece of cake! Also today I was in the lounge when my principal and some other teachers were discussing committees and stuff for next year. I think I'm ready to be more involved in things at the school as a whole and not just my classroom. So I told her that I wanted to be on more challenging committees next year and learn more. I'm still on the social committee (haha I know!) and now three others, one in which I will be co-chair of. I think it'll be good to be more involved!!!! It will definitely give me a bigger perception of being an administrator! The more into these master's classes I get, the more interested I am in possibly being an administrator. I don't think it would be until after my kids are at least in school though. So that's a long way! I'm not even married yet! haha.
The last bit of news is that I was asked to babysit next Wednesday for my friend's newborn baby. Omg I am so excited. I'm not sure what they are doing or for how long but I don't care. Just the chance to hold that baby again will be awesome. I can't believe how great my friend is doing too! I'm so thankful she's ok!!!!!!
