Last week Jackie, Steve, and Sydney came into town for a visit. I was so fun to hang out with them and sightsee on the strip. I met them on Sunday and we walked to a few hotels to check them out. Afterward, I brought them back to my house and made dinner and had a birthday party for the big two year old Sydney! Missy and I both got her some Dora presents that she seemed to really love! We sang Happy Birthday to her and had a really good ice cream cake! Monday I met them down on the strip after work and hung out for a bit in their hotel room. Tuesday Sydney was hanging out with Grandma and Grandpa while me, Missy, Jackie, and Steve had a fun night out on the town. We went to dinner at Cafe Chloe (YUM!) and then saw KA at MGM. That's the second time I've seen the show and I absolutely love it. I am so amazed at those performers' abilities! I wish I had that kind of strength!!! I had such a blast with the Noles family and I can't wait to see them again at Christmas!
Next weekend I am going to Charlotte to visit Chrissy! I can't wait - I'm so excited! I haven't been to visit her since last January and so I am overly due for a visit. Missy is also going to visit so it will be a fun girls weekend! Yay!!!
Today I presented, yet again, at our staff development day. I actually enjoy teaching others about things I've learned but it's exhausting. It's so much work to prepare for these things, which takes time away from other things that need to get done in my classroom. As bad as it sounds though, it is somewhat refreshing to know that lots of other educators are feeling overwhelmed as well. At least I know it's not just me! The countdown has definitely began for June!
