Michigan!

I feel like I've lived in Michigan all summer! I've been there so much! This weekend Pat joined me for my Grandpa's 80th birthday party. It was so great! We totally surprised him and he thoroughly enjoyed it all. We had the party at Savanna's - previously the 1897 Smokehouse - and omg the food was amazing! We started the party there and then finished it up at my grandparents house. It was great to see some relatives I hadn't seen in awhile, too.

I tried to fit in as many Michigan summer things as I could with Pat. With the exception of the first time he visited, he always comes in the winter! Friday I took him to Blocks and we picked corn from the tractor and fresh veggies. I even made him shuck the corn, which he'd never done before. After dinner, we took a bike ride down to Heritage Park to see the river. It was dark by then so we couldn't see much, but it was still fun (and good exercise!). Saturday we went to The Henry Ford and somehow squeezed in the museum and village in less than 4 hours. I hadn't been inside either in quite some time so it was a new experience for me, too. Then on Sunday, Pat went fishing with my grandpa, dad, and Uncle Steve out on Lake Erie. They chartered a private fishing boat and caught 75 fish in about 2 hours! When they got back, we had a fish fry at my grandma's. I've never tasted fish that good before! My uncle fried it with shake and bake! Yum! All in all, it was a very quick but very busy weekend. Makes me sad to leave because I've had so much fun!
