Accomplished

I love having that sense of accomplishment. This morning when I got to school, I started pulling stuff off my walls and got alot of my filing done that I've been saving since the beginning of the year. Then I stayed after school until 5:30 with Mike, working on my report card comments. I really HATE report cards. They take so long to do and it takes even longer than normal because I have to get 3/4 of them translated into spanish. I'm not even going to go into that because it's really irritating and I'm not in the mood to complain. I felt good after I left school though because I only have 10 more students to write comments for. I'm way ahead of schedule for my end of the year checklist. I'm so happy because that means I won't have to go to work the last day of school and can instead sleep in and lay on my couch all day if I want. That will be a great day. And it'll be even better because it's a MONDAY and there's no better way to spend a Monday than on the couch!

I almost cried today because the little girl I'm tutoring finally had an "a- ha" moment. We have been working on telling time all year to the nearest hour and half hour. I've been getting really frustrated with it but together with the special ed aid, we've stuck with it. Today, she pulled the play clock down from the ledge of the white board and started playing with it and started telling time! I got up and started clapping and dancing and she had the biggest smile on her face. I just couldn't believe that she finally got it! It was the most amazing feeling ever! That, my friends, is why I am a teacher :)

Pat's been gone "camping" for the last two days and it's really weird not having him here. I've realized how much my life sucks when he's not around because my friend's here are lame. Mike is really the only one I would consider a really good friend (well and Tiffany of course but I never see her). I'm starting to get really depressed about my birthday. I had high expectations for it and all of my plans are going in the toilet. Looks like it's just going to be me and Pat, which is awesome, but it's always nice to celebrate with your friends too. This is just reminding me that I'm getting older and birthdays aren't what they used to be. Ho hum.
