A whale's vagina

I've come to the conclusion that San Diego is one of the best beach cities ever. I'm glad that I gave it another chance. The last time I was there it was still super chilly and not beach weather at all. The town is pretty different tho when everyone's walking around in board shorts and flip flops. My friends and I organized a weekend trip last weekend. We left Friday after I got off of work and the drive was SO MUCH FUN. I was actually dreading it to be honest with you because we were in the car with 5 people and no room AND the majority of the drive is through the desert. Haha kind of like driving through the corn fields of Ohio! But we all made the most of it and had a blast. Friday night we all went out to a bar on the beach called the Firehouse. What a coincidence that it was right next to an actual firehouse! It was very chill and low key, which is exactly the kind of night I wanted after working and driving for 4 1/2 hours. After the bar, we decided to stick our toes into the Pacific Ocean only to find out that we actually almost went swimming with our clothes on. Not a good idea when you only bring one pair of jeans for the entire weekend!!! Saturday I felt like shit all day so thankfully we just hung out on the beach. It was actually really nice outside - sunny and 75ish for most of the day. What a relief when you're used to 115!!! But it started to get cloudy after awhile and chilly. After we all took much needed power naps (my third nap for the day!) we got ready and headed to another chill bar down the street. We had an absolute BLAST there as well. I love bars like that. I've come to realize that I don't go to places like that very often anymore since most of the fun bars here are clubs. Sunday, most of the gang went home early and me, Jodi, Pat, Pat #2, and Jimmy stuck around and went downtown to Seaport Village for the day. We had a fabulous lunch on the water, checked out a couple of shops, and chilled on the pier before driving back to V-town. The drive back was wonderful because we all slept for a bit and we were home by 9. It was such a great weekend overall and I really can't wait to go back again. Jod and I are thinking about making a road trip to San Fran next!!! Here's some pictures from our fantastic weekend...
