First Date = Best Date Ever
So last night Pat and I went on our official first date. We've been seeing each other for about a month now and neither of us could believe that we never actually went on a date. When we first started hanging out it was always in a group - with my friends and his friends - and the last couple of weekends we've been out of town. We've hung out one-on-one everyday during the week, but we're both so tired that we just hang out and watch movies. Last night as I was getting ready, I got really nervous. I haven't been on too many "dates" so to speak. It was nice though that we've already learned alot about each other so there wouldn't be that awkwardness. Anyway, he picked me up and we went to eat at N9NE, which is a steakhouse, at the Palms. Silly me realized as soon as we got there that I forgot my wallet in my gym bag. Ugh, I swear if I had a nickel for everytime I forgot my ID I'd be rich. Thankfully his sister works there so she was able to talk to our waiter about letting me slide with pre-dinner drinks. His sister was very sweet and I think I made a good first impression. The whole dinner was just amazing. It was the best food ever. We had GREAT conversations throughout dinner and had so much fun. While we were eating, Pat said he had a surprise for me after dinner. It was so cute - he had them bring out this little fire burner thing and marshmallows and chocolate and graham crackers to make smores. He has a fire pit in his backyard and we were just talking about having bonfires and making smores and I told him that smores are my absolute favorite. So he was so thoughtful and cute by putting that little dessert together. I love little surprises like that :) In the middle of dinner, these guys sat down at a table across from us and Pat informed me that one of them was Paul Pierce who I guess is a basketball player on the Celtics. I had no idea who he was. He was very annoying and through the entire dinner he sat at the table with a wad of money in his hands grabbing every chick that walked by. He talked to us a few times across the aisle and I could tell he was just another arrogant superstar that thinks money buys happiness. Anyway, we hung out at the restaurant for awhile and then headed over to Harrah's to catch an improv comedy show. It was HILARIOUS. I love comedy shows. After the show, we sat at a blackjack table and gambled for a bit before heading home. It really was the best date I've ever been on. We laughed and talked and it was just so much fun. He's such a great, sweet guy :)
