Throw Up

I literally almost threw up today at school. I'm reading this book Hatchet by Gary Paulsen to my kids. It's about a boy that is stranded in the wilderness after his plane crashes on the way to visit his father in Canada (he was on a small plane that was just he and the pilot). So now he has to survive and today we were reading about him coming across a small nest of turtle eggs. Well since he was starving and didn't have anything to boil an egg in, he poked a small hole in the bottom of the egg and sucked the insides out. I'm seriously gagging right now writing this. The author of course, had to describe this in vulgar detail including what it looked like and how it felt slithering down his throat. Those of you that know me know that I think that eggs are the most disgusting things known to man and the fact that they were raw in this book was even worse. It was an unborn turtle for pete's sake and he just sucked it right out of the shell. SIIIIIIIIIICK. I was thinking about Missy though while I was reading the book and sort of laughing because we've had so many conversations about eggs and whether or not they're fertilized. I think we came to the conclusion that they are not so in reality they really aren't liquid chickens just yet. They're only about 1/4 of the way cooked. SO GROSS!
