My kids were total monkeys today. I don't know what is going on but they have been bouncing off the walls. I started this unit on water, since it is one of the requirements for them to learn. Let me just say this, whoever decided that hands on activities with water for 4th graders was a good idea, is the world's biggest idiot. I had water EVERYWHERE in my classroom. And most of the time it wasn't because the kids were playing around. They just spilled cups of water like no other. Tomorrow I am doing the same activities with my other class so I guess we will see if it is just my class that acts like morons or if it's just 4th graders altogether!!!
I must say that I am pretty proud of myself. I got a new kitchen table the other day at Wal-mart for $100. Four chairs and a table. Not a bad deal at all. I've had my eye on it since I got my apartment but never went to get it. So Sunday I decided it was time. I felt like the biggest hillbilly ever driving home because the box was so big it didn't fit all the way in my trunk. So I had to drive home with my trunk open and this gigantic box hanging out. It was hot. Mike was kind enough to come over and help me carry it in AND he even volunteered to help me put it together. After assembling the first couple pieces of the table I think he was starting to regret his offer. It was the biggest pain in the ass ever. He is so awesome tho. He practically put it all together. It's kinda hard to help when you are just screwing pieces together! I did, however, put two chairs together by myself after he left. And I've sat in them and so far they haven't fallen apart!!! Go me! Well, then yesterday I decided to hang some shelves that required drilling holes in the wall. Thanks to my daddy, I am a proud owner of a power drill. I felt pretty cool drilling gigantic holes in my wall. Hanging the two shelves only took me like an hour, but hey, they're finally up and I think they look fantastic. I'm just glad you can't see all of the other 4 holes I drilled in the wall behind them by mistake. I swear the wall moved after I measured everything! lol.
So here's a pic of my new table. I absolutely love it!!!!!
