Oh man, what a freaking weekend! I spent a good chunk of time at the hospital this weekend for a friend of mine. Talk about crisis! My friend was pregnant, had a stroke, delivered the baby, had two surgeries - one life threatening, and now she is resting in the nursery room with her adorable baby and coming home in a few days! It was very, very scary and I am SO GLAD that she is ok. I also made food for her family that was in town and her husband and it took alot longer than I had anticipated. Needless to say, much of my Saturday was spent cooking! I was bummed too, on Friday cuz Pat and I went to Cafe Chloe with Missy and Robbie and as soon as we ordered our food, we got the call to come to the hospital asap and had to have them wrap up our food and bring it home. It was still delicious as leftovers!
On Thursday, I picked up Missy from the airport and we sped to the theater to see My Sister's Keeper. Oh man, it was SO good. I normally don't like movies made from books that much, but this one was so good. Missy was sobbing before it even started, it seemed - lol. We both felt like dumb asses walking back through the casino with puffy red eyes! Friday we went to Ditch Fridays at the Palms but only ended up staying a few hours cuz Pat and I went to the hospital. I got to hold my friend's baby and melted. I have baby fever BAD now - haha. She is so small, too. She's only 4lbs! I also held her for like 2 hours when my friend was in surgery. We were able to hang out in a room up in the nursery (mom's housing was in ICU) with the baby and the daddy was too tired to hold her. I graciously volunteered :) I love her! Saturday, like I said earlier, I cooked most of the day - after having the best breakfast ever at The Cracked Egg - and then after taking the food over to their house, went and partied at a friend's bbq. It was alot of fun and there were lots of laughs. I am once again reminded of how goofy and fun Pat is and why I love him so much! Sunday I spent the ENTIRE day in bed being lazy. It was wonderful!
