Well today, much like yesterday started out awful. I didn't get a very good night's sleep last night and woke up pissed because of it. Then shortly after school started, I got a note from this one cracked out parent about her kid making all of these excuses of why she's NEVER in school and why she NEVER gets her work done. The note was addressed nicely to me and said that she would appreciate any help I can do with sending her work home or helping her out. The part that pissed me off is that she also went into the office on a rampage and whined about the situations her daughter is in and thinks that I don't help her socially. Ok. This kid is weird first of all and picks her nose and farts in class and just has no social skills whatsoever. I can't help it what kids say to her on the playground or at lunch and I can't make them be friends with her. So the fact that she is saying I'm not helping her out pissed me off royally because I wanted to scream at her that maybe she shouldn't be a crack whore and then her daughter would be normal. How bout that? :)
At lunch time, I found out one of my other weird students took another kid's chicken nugget - licked it, and put it back on his plate. yes SICK. When the other kid found out he threw up. I got into it with the licking kid the other day because he was acting like a spaz and I later put two and two together that he probably didn't take his meds that morning. When I sent him down to the office to have mom bring it to him, mom was upset because the kid was embarassed and upset that I yelled at him and moved him away from everyone. I understand that his condition makes him do strange things, but when he is annoying another one of my students and hindering him from completing his work, then I need to do something about it. And I did. So whatever. The kid finally came back to class after lunch and he was fine. I don't think the mom likes me though. She's the weird one too that brought unpeeled, whole, mangoes for the kids to eat during their Valentine's party.
On a good note though, I have been seriously thinking about switching grade levels to younger kids because I think they are so cute and so innocent and fun. My friend casually mentioned it in front of my principal and she told me today that it will probably happen next school year. I really would like first grade but I think it will end up being second. Oh well. Anything other than bratty kids calling me a bastard will be better. lol. I went in a first grade classroom the other day and they were making crafts and drawing things and it was just so cute. One kid was drawing "rainbows and sunshine." I think that is an awesome thing to draw! haha.
We had our literacy night at school tonight. It wasn't as bad as I thought. I thought we would be stuck there until 7:30 but it went really quick and we were outta there by 6:30. Woot! Now I'm gonna go relax, paint my nails, and watch Wheel of Fortune :)
