Circus Anyone?

i seriously feel like my classroom is a circus right now. I have had 8 new students added to my class since last Monday. For the most part, they are normal 4th grade kids and are on grade level, which is nice. However, there are a few that are super weird. For example, I may have said this already but one of my new kids last week started hissing at other kids. He's Russian, not that there's anything wrong with that, but he's just odd. I got another girl yesterday that is not technically in my class, but since she was transferred from the other fourth grade class and put into track 3, she now has to hang in my room while track 3 is out on break. Yesterday her third grade teacher told me to check under her desk everyday because she is notorious for picking her nose and putting her boogers under her desk. Today, I got two new students. One is brand new to Las Vegas and cried within the first hour. I made him sit back down and suck it up. The other one, came in at 11 and I was pulled out by the school nurse in the middle of my reading lesson so that she could "brief" me on his newly diagnosed diabetes condition. I was like "lady, I've already been warned about this new thing by the other nurse, and now is not the time to pull me out unexpectedly to discuss this while I'm in the middle of a lesson!" I was so annoyed. So this kid is special ed and he goes to the resource teacher for all subjects but social studies and science. Well the mom informed me today that she doesn't like the resource teacher because he yells and doesn't want her kid under stress so she doesn't want him going anymore. I'm like great. You can't just all of a sudden decide on a whim that your child won't be getting special ed services. She signed a legal document that says we, by law, have to work toward those goals. So I have to set up a meeting with her and my principal to discuss. My principal told me today this kid is really weird and manipulative and she will do everything she can to get him to go to resource.

All day today I've been wanting to pull my hair out. I don't have enough desks in my room or workbooks or textbooks so I've been running around like a chicken with my head cut off. My desk looked like a tornado had passed through it and it was driving me crazy all day today. I brought home a butt load of work to do tonight so that I hopefully won't feel overwhelmed tomorrow. Let's keep our fingers crossed.

On a good note, I have delicious turkey chili in the crock pot right now and it is going to be bomb.
