Geez. Where do I even start. I haven't posted in like two weeks! Well, lets see. Last week I flew home to Michigan, which was really nice. I got in Wednesday and spent the rest of the afternoon with my parents. Thursday morning my mom and I went to the mall with my Grandma Great for her weekly walking/breakfast routine. She's so cute! Then we hung out with her and my grandma at their house for a bit. Friday I went out with the girls to Malarkey's and even tho I don't really like that place, I had a blast. Saturday I laid around all day and then went to Jackie's in the evening. Her house is so beautiful. Sunday was her shower and then I flew home. She looks SO CUTE pregnant and I want to rub her belly all the time. I can't wait to meet little Sydney!
So Monday I started school. I basically wanted to die when I woke up because I was jet lagged, exhausted, and slept like crap. School went off with a bang and I think I have a really good class. I have a few that I need to stay on top of but every class has those and they're not that bad. One student on my roster ended up moving so right now I only have 22 kids in my HUGE classroom. It's so nice. However, today we found out that one of our fourth grade teacher's is being surplussed so her class with have to be divided among the other four classes. I think she only had like 23 as well so that's only 5 or so more kids per room. Not that bad. Could always be worse! So I taught my first math lesson yesterday and I wanted to jump up and down on the tables. I bet about 95 % of my kids were ahead of the game! I taught place value and they actually could READ big numbers AND they knew the place values! Hallelujah! I love love love love love love love my new school so much. My administrators are awesome and so personable and all the teachers are really nice. The kids are actually somewhat intelligent too! Who knew?
One other exciting bit of news is that Pat and I celebrated our one-year anniversary on Monday! We've technically been together longer than that, but that date marks the day we decided to be "exclusive" even tho neither of us were ever seeing each other from June until then. Oh well. It's so exciting to celebrate an anniversary. It's been a long time since I've had one of those! We were supposed to go to Disneyland and California Adventure this weekend but we've decided to postpone it. I'm disappointed but glad at the same time. There has been so much going on the last couple of weekends that I haven't had a chance to get stuff done at home and run other errands. So I'll be doing alot of that this weekend.
Phew. Well I think this is all up to date. I should go upload some pictures to post. Maybe I'll do that now...
