The strangest thing happened to me today as I was driving home from work. I was talking to my dad on the phone and looking into the mountains by my house and I saw this HUGE dust cloud and thought it was really weird. When I got closer to my house, I was turning almost to my street and I was right in the middle of that huge cloud and realized it was like a mini tornado! I'm not kidding! They are building a small strip mall right by my house and all of the equipment AND porto-potty's were flying all over the place. I started laughing because the potty's flew over and I can just imagine how the person who has to clean that up must feel. But it freaked me out at the same time. As I drove through it, I looked behind me and could see small things swirling in the air in that cloud. It gets hella windy here in Vegas, but I have NEVER seen anything like that before! So weird!
One of my students moved today so he's not in my class anymore. I really miss him. He was my newest student, one of my special ed ones. He really touched my heart but he also drove me crazy. Yesterday he stood up in the middle of silent reading and said (no screamed), "Ms. Thomas! Michael call me FAT ASS!!!!!!!!" He's chinese so his english isn't the greatest and that's exactly how he said it. I couldn't even get upset because it was hilarious. I had to hold myself back from cracking up. He was alot of work because he liked to touch everything (and I mean everything) so I had to constantly keep an eye on him. I don't want to say I'm glad he's gone, because I'm not, but it just changes the whole dynamic of the classroom.
I have 29 school days left before I'm OUTTA THERE. I can't wait.
I finally slept decently last night. The dogs only woke me up once. Milton is starting to grasp the concept of steps. He's sitting on the landing right now between the two sets of stairs coming up here. I can hear him panting but I'm not going to get him. How stupid can you be to climb one set of steps but not figure out that you can climb the rest???????
