I'm Slackin

I just realized that my postings are very sporatic (sp?). The truth is, I'm not really home that much and I can't access my blog at work. Oh man, that would be bad if I could!!! I officially have 19 school days left, although I am only working 15 of them. Whoa. That's not much at all!!!!! Tomorrow is my last work day for the week because Wednesday I leave for Philly! Yay! I am SO excited! Pat flew there today and I just got off the phone with him. We both can't wait to go sightseeing. I love history and I've always wanted to see the history in Philly. Plus, Missy is driving in on Wed too so we'll be there around the same time. It sucks that she has to work Thurs, but we'll get to spend a little time together in Philly before heading to DC. Our White House tour is Sat morning, which I am not too thrilled about the time, but I can't wait to go inside of it! Just seeing the outside of it is amazing so I can't imagine the feeling of actually being in it. Pat thinks we're gonna see GW walking around in his underwear but I highly doubt that. It would be funny though!

So this past Friday we had a successful barbecue at Pat's house for his office staff. I really like hosting parties. Not everyone was able to attend, but we still had fun. I brought over Guitar Hero so we had a little battle. Afterward we went to a kareoke bar and it seriously reminded me of Malarkey's to a T! It was really weird. We had an absolute blast, and no, I did not sing. But I danced my ass off in flip flops and jeans and had an amazing time doing it. It's been awhile since I've been to a bar in town in flip flops! haha. Saturday I was out of commission most of the day until I met Pat, his parents, and his niece for dinner up the street. Then we rented movies and stayed in. Boy, was I happy about that. I like staying in one night on the weekend. Then I don't feel so run down when Monday comes! We rented the second National Treasure since we are going to DC. It was pretty good, but I liked the first one better. We were gonna watch both but the video store didn't have the first one in stock. We also rented Cloverfield and I thought it was really weird. First, it gave me a headache, and second, the ending was terrible. I guess it could be cool to see in the movie theater but it was definitely not on my top list of movies by any means.

I'm starting to get panicky because I have SO MUCH to do and I feel like I will have no time to do it. So instead, I am wasting time posting on my blog. Ugh. I have to get my classroom ready for three days of no Ms. Thomas. Thankfully my friend that I teach with is filling in for me for the first two days and the kids know him so I'm hoping it won't be so bad. I'm definitely keeping my fingers crossed. Mike took Thurs and Fri off last week and when he came in today, 6 of his kids got written up Friday for skipping school. They claimed the sub told them that 7-11 was giving away free slurpees and gave them permission to go. DUH!
