Tacos, guacamole, and rice con leche

This week we were celebrating inclusion throughout the school, so I decided to take it a bit further and celebrate our cultures within my classroom. The kids were given a project to do to research their culture and then present it to the class on Friday. We also had a multicultural party on Friday afternoon where the kids got to bring in authentic food to share. I didn't realize what a fun project this would be and the kids absolutely LOVED it. They seemed to learn alot about themselves and where their family came from. I even had some parents come into class on Friday to listen to the presentations because their child was so excited about the project. It was so much fun. The food was the best. The majority of my class is Mexican so there was lots of authentic mexican food. Doesn't get much better than that!!!
