I don't think you know how excited I am that today was my last full Friday of work for 6 weeks. I have one week left with the little brats and then I'm D-O-N-E! I'm kidding. They're not brats. Well, sometimes they are. I can't believe that my first year of teaching is almost over. It sort of flew by but sort of not. I technically have been with these kids almost 11 months now. Wow. It's hard to think that over a year ago I got that phone call from my principal telling me I was hired. That was one of the best days of my life so far. And although I do love teaching, I am DEFINITELY ready for a break. Next Friday I get out at noon and I intend on going straight to the Palms to enjoy their Ditch Friday's pool par-tay. It's going to be fun.
I came home today to find an enormous cockroach in my bathroom sink. Now before you start to think that my apartment is gross because I have cockroaches, don't. They are EVERYWHERE out here. I was so freaked out and didn't know what to do. It was HUGE. I first tried to drown it and make it go back down the drain but he was stubborn and didn't give up. Finally I just decided to spray him like no other with Chlorox and then head to the pool and pray that he would die while I was gone. When I came back he was sure dead but then I didn't know what to do cuz I didn't wait to pick him out of the sink. Thankfully Jodi isn't as scared of dead bugs as I am so she did it for me. Yuuuuuuuuuuuuuck.
