God help the children of Las Vegas

I was on my way to work yesterday and in that short period I heard this brief announcement on the radio that the mayor of Las Vegas wants to pass a law that teachers will be allowed to carry guns to school. They have to have a license to carry, of course, and take all of these safety classes. His reasoning is for protection since there are more and more school shootings in Vegas each year. I know of at least 3 that has happened this year in high schools. Ok, so I understand that he wants us to be able to protect ourselves, but giving a teacher a gun is not a good idea for a multitude of reasons. First of all, if a teacher is careless at any point and leaves his/her gun somewhere other than attached to them, a child can take it and shoot themselves or shoot someone else. Second, a teacher could get so pissed and snap and start shooting up the school. That sounds a little strange, but I truly would not be surprised ifI heard that that had happened on the news. I hate guns. I wish that no one was allowed to have one except for police officers!
