Well yesterday was my official last day at Justice. It didn't really hit me at all when I was leaving and it still hasn't yet. I called Joey on my way home and he reminded me that that was the last job other than teaching I will ever have (hopefully! Let's keep our fingers crossed that teaching works out! haha) AND it is the LAST weekend I will ever work. WOO HOO!!!!! That just made me SOOOOOOO incredibly happy. I got so spoiled the last 7 years not having to work weekends - well other than when I traveled doing ride and drives for JD - that working retail totally sucked. Well let me rephrase that. Working at Kohl's totally sucked and working weekends totally sucked. But working at Justice was actually really fun and I'm gonna miss alot of the girls! One of them is going to come to my class and help out every once in a while. Another good thing about not having to work weekends anymore is that I can finally go to church regularly!!! Lately I've been going like once a month, if that and I did not like that. It's weird because as much as church is important in it's own way, when I go it makes me feel closer to my family because that's been something we've done every Sunday since I was born. Plus I like my church so it makes me want to go :)
I can't tell you how much I am looking forward to my two weeks off. I have some appointments Tuesday (doctor, dentist, etc.) and the rest of the week is wide open. I think I am going to sleep in REALLY late and then go out and lay out until Joey gets home. Then I'll make dinner (which has been rare the last couple months) and have a normal life. Then I think next week I'll go into my class everyday and make some last minute preparations for the school year. Then school starts! YAY! I'm really excited, especially now that I went in to school on the first day and actually saw what it was like. It's not as bad as I had thought. I just have to make sure I'm strong in my classroom management and discipline so my kids know I'm boss. Haha that sounds funny, but it's true. Every book I've read says that the first few weeks are crucial because they set the tone for the rest of the year. So if any of you have any suggestions or ideas to throw my way of clever tools, games, or whatever to help manage my class, throw them my way. :)
Well I'm off now to a bbq. It shall be fun and I am thoroughly looking forward to it!!!
